Housing

Since 2015, the International Exhibition of Contemporary Housing HOUSING has been organized biennially by the Department of Housing of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Niš and the Cluster of Urban Planning. The exhibition follows modern trends and the latest achievements in the field of residential architecture and shows innovative and inspiring completed projects and design solutions from all over the world. Since its inception, the HOUSING exhibition has sought to bring together architects and engineers, professors and students, scientists and business people and all others who are in any way interested in housing issues, housing construction and housing architecture. The exhibition also aims to be a place where designers, researchers and lecturers will present and discuss the latest concepts, trends, problems and practical challenges they face. The exhibition is continuously improving and today represents an important architectural event for the entire professional community in our country and plays a significant role in shaping and directing architectural discourses.

The selection of papers and writing of reviews is done by the International Scientific and Artistic Committee, which consists of professors and academics from more than 10 countries. The exhibition is accompanied by an high quality catalog with a detailed presentation of all works and reviews by members of the International Scientific and Artistic Committee.

The HOUSING exhibition, as the first of its kind in the country (in the field of architecture and urbanism), was officially verified as international by the Parent Scientific Committee for Transport, Urbanism and Construction of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The HOUSING exhibition presents works divided into two thematic units ‒ in addition to the latest housing realizations from around the world, one special topic is covered, and so far the topics of housing in the ex-socialist countries and social housing have been addressed, while HOUSING 2021 will be dedicated to various forms of transformations in residential architecture.
