He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo. He has a master’s degree and a doctorate from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Nis. He worked as a chief designer in offices in Sarajevo, Podgorica and Belgrade. Since 1998, he has been working at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Nis, where he has been a full professor since 2020. Since 2011, he has been the Head of the Chair of Housing. He is the author of dozens of scientific papers, and he has published six monographs and textbooks. He is the author or co-author of hundreds of designs and realizations. He participated in several competitions in which he was awarded. He exhibited his works at the Salons of Architecture in Serbia and abroad, where he won several awards and recognitions. He is the organizer of dozens of exhibitions in Nis and Serbia. He was a member of the jury of the Grand Prize of the Association of Architects of Serbia in 2001, 2015 and 2023 and the Triennial of Architecture of Nis 2012, as well as the International Salon of Architecture of Belgrade in 2014. For his work so far on the affirmation of architecture, he was awarded the Charter of the Association of Engineers of Serbia in 2008 and 2018
Milan Tanić, PhD
Architect and full professor of architectural design at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Nis. His research interests are focused on public spaces, social influences and spatial behavior. He is an author and co-author of over 70 scientific and professional papers published in journals of international and national importance, as well as dozens of architectural projects and realized architectural objects. He has exhibited his works at all the most important professional events in Serbia: the Days of Architecture of Nis, the Days of Architecture of Novi Sad and the International Salon of Architecture in Belgrade, as well as the International Salon of Architecture in Prague and Sofia and the International Salon of Urbanism. He is a member of several professional associations and a member of editorial boards of scientific journals. He has served as a reviewer for a number of leading international journals. He has won several significant awards and recognitions at architectural exhibitions and competitions
Vladimir Lojanica
Dean of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade as of 2023. He teaches Housing and Studio design at the Department of Architecture. In 2004, he founded the architectural studio ProAspekt, within which he regularly and successfully participates in public national and international architectural competitions, where he won numerous, highest awards. He is the author of a series of designs and constructed projects in the country and abroad. He has won several significant professional awards, including the Annual Award for Architecture of the Association of Architects of Serbia for the most successful work in the field of architecture (2007 for Holiday Inn and Belexpo Center in Belgrade, and 2018 for the Hotel and Business Complex in Rajićeva Street in Belgrade, together with M. Lojanica), as well as the award of the 37th and 40th Salon of Architecture for the constructed projects in the field of Architecture. Along with architectural and urban design, he published papers and texts in numerous monographs and professional and public publications. He is a member of various national professional associations and advisory bodies. The works of Vladimir Lojanica have been presented and published in domestic and international professional congresses and exhibitions, including two exhibitions within the national selection at the Architectural Biennale in Venice. He has won the Grand Award for Architecture for lifetime achievement of the Serbian Union of Architects.
Ivan Rašković
He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade. Since 1989, he has been employed at the De - partment of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture. Professional engagement is focused on the theory and prac - tice of architectural and town planning design. In addition to teaching, since 1998 he has been a member of the author group AGM (with B. Petrović and N. Jelić) within which he has been dealing with professional and theoretical work. He is the designer of a large number of constructed buildings and the winner of numerous professional awards (three awards of the Salon of Architecture, Award of the Novosti company, Ranko Radović Award, Recognition of the Triennial of Architecture in Niš). He participated in 40 public, invitational and international competitions, where he was won 9 first awards and twenty other awards and recognitions. He is a participant in the most important national and international exhibitions. With prof. Borislav Petrović he published a monographic study TRADITION - TRANSITION / use of heritage in architecture. He is the co-author of the publication The Future of Housing - Aspects of Sustainability of Future Housing in Serbia. He was elected National Commissioner of the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2014. In the period 2009-2013. he was the president of the Society of Architects of Belgrade. He has been the president of the sub-section of architects, the section of designers of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers since 2013.
Tijana Vujičić, PhD
She works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, University of Banja Luka, at the Department of Architectural Design and the Department of Town Planning. Her research work to date has focused on the phenomenon of shrinking cities - the spatial, social and economic aspects of urban transformation of cities facing population loss and economic decline. In response to these challenges, she has developed an integrative adaptive management methodology to improve the community’s ability to cope with uncertainties and future challenges. In general, she advocates an “adaptive approach” in urban planning and architectural design, based on the application of parametric tools in the management of the built environment. More recently, her work has focused on researching the problems and consequences caused by the narrowing processes in housing.
Ružica Božović Stamenović, PhD
Head of Urban Research Cluster at the Department of Architecture of the National University of Singapore. Her field of research interest is human ecology, design processes for health restoration and design of wellness centers in mod - ern urban environments and mega mature societies. She is a faculty associate at the Center for Health Systems and Design at A&M University in Texas, a member of the Executive Board of the UIA Group for Public Health and GUPHA (Global University Programs in Health Architecture). Her lecturing around the world promoted contextual and cultural interpretations of healthy architecture. She has written two books, numerous chapters and papers on topics related to the design of health care facilities. As an architect, designer and co-founder of the RD Bureau, she has won important national architectural awards in former Yugoslavia and many domestic and international awards in architectural competitions. In 2014, she won the Berkeley Prize Scholarship aimed at supporting the teaching of social art in architecture. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale in Italy
Armin Stocker, PhD
He studied and received his doctorate from the University of Technology in Graz. As the founder of the architectural bureau S. DREI Architektur, among other things, he was a responsible designer for numerous international projects, such as those in Paris, Madrid, Rome, Prague, Warsaw, Shanghai and other metropolises. His buildings have received several awards, such as the International Architecture Award of the Chicago Athenaeum and the best architect awards. Since 2012, his studio Armin Stocker has been working on projects for private and public clients. He has extensive teaching experience at the University of Technology in Graz, the Technical University of Carinthia and the Technical University of Berlin. He is a University Assistant at the Institute of Architectural Technology, University of Graz. He is the author of numerous professional articles and the publisher of numerous specialist publications, such as the one published in 2018, Book YOSTAR - Young Styrian Architecture. He was vice-president of the Central Association of Architects in Styria. He is currently an assistant professor and deputy director of the Institute for Fundamentals of Construction and Design.
Constanta Carmina Gheorghita, PhD
Architect, urban designer and planner; PhD in architecture. Her theoretical interests include the phenomenon of contemporary architecture of sacral space, new theories of contemporary architecture, landscape design, architectural and landscape rehabilitation and conservation. Over the years, she has held permanent and guest teaching positions at regional and international universities. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in postgraduate and undergraduate studies in architectural design, landscape architecture and research theory. She is currently working on publishing her first book on sacred space. She is the author of numerous articles in reference journals and numerous papers in conference proceedings. She has given lectures and presentations in countries across Europe. She is a registered architect in Romania and is currently the Vice President of the Order of Architects in Romania for the Iasi-Vaslui region. She is involved in cultural projects in the field of architecture and architectural education and the organization of cultural events. She has been an active member of the De-a arhitectura association since 2014. Her design activity includes numerous projects that belong to the housing program, but also to tourist and entertainment facilities, interior design and landscape design.
Janusz Marchwiński, PhD
He is the author or co-author of five books and over 70 architectural projects. His interests are focused on environmentally and energy efficient architecture. He has given lectures and presentations in a dozen countries and has mentored over 250 graduate theses in Poland. His doctoral dissertation on the role of implemented solar measures in office buildings was awarded the First Prize of the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure in 2006. As a member of the Polish Photovoltaic Society, he founded the BIPV section. He participates in a number of environmentally oriented projects and programs, including the interdisciplinary program "Municipal Building of Tomorrow 2030". Laureate of scientific and design awards.
Jan-Frederik Flor, PhD
Researcher and lecturer in the field of architectural engineering and building physics. He obtained his PhD in Building Technology at the University of Nottingham, UK. His research interests cover new developments in the environmental design of lightweight and membrane structures, focusing on the thermal and optical behaviour of multi-layer foil constructions. He graduated in architecture at the University of Costa Rica and has a master’s degree in engineering of membrane structures from the Institute of Membrane and Shell Technologies at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Throughout his career in the building industry, Jan-Frederik has contributed as a design - and project engineer in the planning, building and quality management of textile and foil constructions on a range of scales. He is a Professional Technologist for Building Construction & Technology accredited by the Malaysian Board of Technologists and an active Member of the TensiNet Association, contributing to the working group for Sustainability & Comfort. Currently, Jan-Frederik teaches in the Faculty of Architecture and Ekistics at University Malaysia Kelantan, in Malaysia.
AMÍLCAR Gil Pires, PhD
Full Professor in the Disciplinary Area of Architecture at the University of Beira Interior - Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering. Aggregation exams in Architecture, Specialty of Theory and Practice of Architectural Design, by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, in 2019. PhD in Architecture by the Faculty of Architecture – University of Lisbon, in 2008. Architect by the Faculty of Architecture – Technical University of Lisbon, in 1992. Author of Architectural Design projects and buildings since 1992. Has received several prizes in Architecture public competitions, with consequent built work. He has lectured and conducted architectural workshops at universities and other institutions. Since 2004. He has participated in the organization of Architecture national and international conferences and seminars, and integrated its respective scientific committees. Full member of the CIAUD (Research Center for Architecture, Urbanism and Design / Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon): Coordinator of the research group “ARCPLAND [Architecture - Place - Landscape]”: Research Group in Architecture, Place and Landscape, whose mission is to promote and conduct research in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, in the fields of Architectural Design, Theory, History, Sustainability, and its relationship with Place, the Heritage and Landscape.
Anna Bach, PhD
She is an architect by the Helsinki University of Technology and Master Architect in Theory and Practice of Architecture by the ETSA Barcelona. She is an Associate Professor and Coordinator in Interior Design at EINA, University of Design and Arts in Barcelona, and she has participated in different workshops, lectures, juries and other academic venues in the University of Antwerp, HafenCity University Hamburg, AA Summer School London, Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, ETH Zurich and the Universidad Autónoma de Lisboa. Besides her academic activity, her interests spread across three activities: Professional, as cofounder of “Anna & Eugeni Bach”, studio that works in public and private projects. Research, being part of the PhD research group at ETSAB University and via projects and installations that deal with the perception of space. Culture, as curator and coordinator of different venues highlighting her recent appointment as Director of the XVth Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial. Some highlights from among her recent awards and recognitions include the FAD Award 2019 and Opinion FAD Award in Ephemeral Interventions, Finalist and Selected at the Spanish Architecture Biennial in 2018 and 2016, the nomination for the EU Mies van der Rohe Award and the nomination for the Iakov Chernikhov International Prize for Young Architects in 2015 and the International FAD Award in 2014.
Spiros Papadimitriou, PhD
He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) (1999) and he received his Master degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association (2003) School of Architecture in London. He is Assistant Professor in Architectural Digital Design at the Architecture School of A.U.Th., at the Department of Architectural Design and Visual Art where he teaches since 2004. He has also taught as visiting professor at the Department of Architecture, University of Cyprus (2017), University of Frederick (2012-2014) and University of Thessaly (2007-2010) Greece. He is a member of the coordinating committee and the teaching staff of the Postgraduate Program “Advanced Design, Innovation and Transdisciplinarity in Design”. Since 1999 he is practicing architecture as an independent architect and he is involved in various projects and international competitions through a network of variant associations. He has received many awards and distinctions in international and national competitions and he has participated in many exhibitions, publications and conferences in Greece and in Europe. He was curator of the exhibition digitaltopographies. com and of the book under the same title. In 2011 he was awarded the „Young Greek Architect Award“ from the Greek Association of Architects, SADAS.
Andrea Zamboni, Phd
He studied at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture and at the Faculty of Architecture in Ferrara, where he graduated in the class of Peter Zumthor and Vittorio Savi. Since 2013, he has worked as a visiting professor of architectural composition at the Faculty of Architecture and Technology, University of Bologna. Since 2017, he has the title of associate professor of architectural design. From 2013 to 2107, he was a part of the Domus Magazine Study Center, mostly working on special projects and the international network. He was a panelist at important international conferences. From 2019 is Adjunct Professor of Architectural Design at the Department of Engineering and Architecture, Bachelor and Master course in Architecture of University of Parma. He is part of the scientific council of the master program “Design of Excellence for the Historic City” of the University “Federico II” in Naples. He has been a member of juries at international competitions and for the awarding of architectural prizes, such as the Europan and Gensler Design Excellence Awards (USA). He is a co-founder and associate of the architectural bureau ZAA Zamboni Associati Architettura. He won numerous awards at national and international competitions.
Ioana Georgiana Şerbănoiu, PhD
She is an architect and a Ph.D. in Architecture by the Technical University of Madrid, with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Architecture by “George Matei Cantacuzino” Faculty of Architecture and a Master’s Degree in Architectural Communication by the Technical University of Madrid. As a Ph.D., her field of expertise is memorial architecture and the ways in which it influences individual, social, collective and historical memory. The framework of her studies is interdisciplinary, encompassing Architecture, Arts and Humanities, History, Psychology and Anthropology. She has published papers in Spanish and Italian journals and has participated in international congresses. She is currently part of the team teaching the “Workshop on Communication of the Master’s Thesis” at ETSAM. Her classes consist of teaching “Digital Narratives” (how to better communicate a project using technological means).
Kristina Careva, PhD
Aassociate Professor and graduate architect, research associate, born in 1976 in Zagreb. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Zagreb in 2002, and obtained her doctorate in 2012 with the dissertation titled „Architectural Model of Space for Interdisciplinary Research in Art and Technology“. After two years of professional experience in architectural offices in Croatia and Finland, she started working at the Computer Applications in Architecture Cabinet in 2004, where she continues to teach courses and contribute to the doctoral studies program in Architecture and Urbanism, of which she has been the head since 2023. She actively participates as a researcher in the realization of three international research projects, two scientific projects of the Faculty of Architecture registered with the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, one project of the Croatian Science Foundation, as well as three scientific research projects within the framework of institutional funding for research activities at the University of Zagreb. As an author or co-author, she has published around fifty scientific and other papers and participated with presentations at around twenty conferences.
